Salon Marions-Nous (or Wedding-palooza)

Having learnt our lesson from last year about putting things off to the last minute with regards to all things wedding-show related, we went into the show this year with a kickin’ display and a little more experience. For example, we knew that a trolley is hot commodity when trying to pack up and leave at the close of the show so you have to be on one like white on rice.

All jesting aside, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and all the really nice people we got to meet. You’d think staying put in one spot for 8 hours would be killer, but time passed so quickly as visitor after visitor stopped by ogle our awesome albums (yes, no shortage of modesty here!). Wedding shows have their own particular brand of crazy – sounds of uptempo pop mixed with string quartets and pulsing club music, clipboards being put into your hands to enter a contest every corner you turn and brochures and fliers coming every which way. I’m very thankful that we somehow stood out above the fray.  So I’d like to give a shout-out to all of you who have landed on this blog and our website after visiting us at the wedding show: howdy and welcome!

Dahlia - Dear Angela and Tim!
My soon to be husband and I were at the wedding show and I must admit it was pretty crazy!!! It was our first and last!!! The only good thing that came out of it was meeting you guys!!! You definitely stood out from the lot. Your albums are beauty-full and so unique!!! That’s why I hope we will have the honor to collaborate with you for our wedding.
The only thing is that we have a very particular situation…
We both live in the Democratic Republic of Congo and we are planning to get married in September in Montreal. We don’t have a date yet because it pretty much depends on availabilities of venues and of you guys!!! As you guys probably know organizing a wedding is hard work, doing it from the Congo is a nightmare!!! And, I know, people organize weddings a year in advance and we are very late!!!
So I wanted to have an idea of what were you guys’ availabilities for the month of September 2009. Also, I was looking at the different photo in the galleries and there is a particular venue that caught my eye; if I told you which picture, would it be possible for you guys to send me the name of the venue?
Sending lot’s of sunshine from Africa!!!

Ange - Hi Dahlia, I totally remember meeting you – how many other people were visiting from the Congo at the wedding show?! Tim’s sent off an e-mail to you, keep in touch and I hope you don’t stress about the wedding planning too much. It will be a beautiful day no matter what.
