Philippe + Kar Mee: Engaged!

Sometimes love can be loud, exuberant, even giddy. Other times it is reflective, quiet and tranquil. For every couple in love that Tim and I photograph, each is different in how they express themselves and in how they live it out. But truth of love is found in every sideways glance, every smile exchanged and in each squeeze of the hand. Its those simple, honest moments that Tim and I pursue. Philippe and Kar Mee are sweet, funny and adorable and getting married next month. We did their shoot in the Chinese Pavillion at the Botanical Gardens. I’ll be totally honest here, parks are usually not my favorite places to shoot. But the colors and structures and landscape made for such a rich backdrop. It rained on and off that way but we kept on shooting, ducking for cover beneath the overhang of a decorative tiled roof or under an umbrella.
