Rings!

When the officiant talks about the ring at a wedding ceremony, he or she will often speak about how the ring has “no beginning and no end”, that it is “representative of a love that is eternal and infinite”.

But I confess, when I look at *my* wedding ring – the one I’ve been wearing now for 10 years, I don’t necessarily think about these things, though in some sense, I suppose I do believe them to be true. For me, I see quite simply the faces of my wife, my kids, and this life we’re living together. It is as much the “right now” as it is our future or what brought us here.

The true significance of this ring, for me, is in what is the “everyday”, the routine, and *all* the moments that we can be blessed to call our magnificent version of “normal”.
