I looove gospel music. I love the grooves, the hooks, the energy, the passion behind the words, and how its such a dynamic way to worship. I love being a part of my gospel choir, The Chorale of Reconciliation. So anyone who knows the gospel music scene here in Montreal knows Danny Eason . He is the energetic director of the Abundant Life Choir Montreal, and moved up here from Brooklyn NY to begin his ministry here in 2005. It was exciting to do this shoot with him for his upcoming album.

Since the shoot was relatively short, I actually was Tim’s assistant for once, fetching his bags, carrying the gear – something Tim clearly wasn’t used because he kept insisting on picking up the equipment even as I shooed him away to get to the next location ahead of us to set up the shots. =P

Here’s a few shots Tim took from the session last Monday:

We hoofed it to the Big Apple this past weekend to reunite with some friends we haven’t seen in a long time, and crammed ourselves fugee-style in an apartment in Spanish Harlem. It was rushed but we were glad to spend the time with our friends Ivanna, Jon, Adrian and Madeline in NYC. Plus, we met lots of very cool and talented people who are a part of the New York indie music scene. I’d love to post some pictures from our weekend but it’ll have to come later as we are playing catch-up with the loads of photos we are working on. It can be exhausting but its worth it, because we absolutely love doing this.

So last weekend we had Sebastian Demrey, a Montreal based singer/songwriter came into our home studio for a photoshoot. He’s working on a new album and we’re stoked that Tim’s shots will be a part of this exciting project. Plus we got to use our super hot red living room wall. Check it out:

Its been a busy, busy week here as Tim and I shuttle back and forth between our apartment and our new condo – painting, moving, painting, moving. I thought it would be brilliant to move things in small installments culminating in The Big Move at the end of the month and now I’m wondering if its better to get it all over and done with at once, like ripping off a band-aid. Gah.

On a lighter note, on Saturday Tim did the studio photoshoot with the Chorale of Reconciliation, which I’m a part of, and we’re excited because the images are lookin’ hawt! Since we’ve been über-occupied with all the trials and tribulations of preparing for The Big Move, we haven’t had much time to work on the images, so we’ll be posting again soon with more from the shoot at a later date. Here’s a small teaser though:

I know. We lookin’ all serious and stuff! Lots more good stuff to come

Yesterday, Tim had the pleasure of doing part 1 of 2 photo sessions with Ricardo, an up-and-coming francophone rap artist based in Montreal. I wasn’t around for the shoot, but Tim got some time to chat with this passionate and honest young man about his vision for his music, what drives him, and his future plans for his album. We’re so happy whenever we get to work with emerging talent and we’re totally looking forward to our next shoot with him. Here’s a few pics from the shoot yesterday, which took place in our home studio:

And finally – trying out texture. Whaddya think?

This shoot was done with a Canon 5D that we just got. We’re feeling the full-frame lurve!

And yes – I just changed the blog template…am not really crazy about it but we needed something to give us more room for pictures width-wise. *Tsk*. Free templates.
