Ellen+Ryan: Engaged! | Montreal Engagement Photography

We love winter engagement shoots. We don’t do them that often because few couples are willing to brave the cold but the end result is always something different than the norm – and if you know about us, we love doing things different! Ellen and Ryan, who are native Vermonters, drove up to Montreal for the day for their session. We thought, what better place as a backdrop than the iconic Mont Royal park? Despite the way below normal freezing temperatures Ellen and Ryan braved it and looked great at the same time! We’re looking forward to shooting their wedding this summer in much balmier temperatures. Check out some of our favourite images from their session:

We’re playing a little bit of catch up here at the studio, with the holidays catching up it’s been tough keeping grips on the blog. That’s not to say that we have a shortage of wonderful couples that we want to share with all of you!

Angela and I were in Toronto in the middle of November on a cold but mild day and got to spend an afternoon with Haneen and Galen who let us into their wonderfully decorated and cozy home, introduced us to their wonderfully cozy dog Charlie and talked about many things – including Galen’s love for baseball. It was a relaxed shoot, and Haneen and Galen made our jobs easy by simply being themselves. We’re looking forward to photographing what we know will be a fabulous wedding this coming May.

ALI+VINNIE | MONTREAL ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

We are incredibly lucky to be able to do what we do. We’re given opportunities to get windows into the lives of people who are totally in love – like Ali and Vinnie. Anyone spending just a few minutes with them can see how enamoured they are of each other and how much fun they have together. Angela and I took Ali and Vinnie out for their engagement session and spent a cold autumn day with their scooter (aptly also named ‘Vinny’), the backdrop of Old Montreal and two souls who just couldn’t stop smiling at each other. Holly is as sweet as sugar and Ben rolls out the jokes continuously and makes her laugh – together they made our shoot with them in Old Montreal several weeks back a whole lot of fun. And just like Tim and me, they’re foodies and travel enthusiasts so we were gabbing away with them about restaurants and places to visit – which us all kind of hungry and yearning to jump on a plane! We can’t wait to shoot their wedding in Toronto this weekend.

Guylaine+Craig: Engaged! | Montreal Engagement Photography

When Guylaine and Craig wrote us recently and proposed that we do their engagement shoot at a drive-in theater, we were all for it. Then they mentioned a seedy motel closeby – and I don’t know it is about photographers and weird spaces – but Tim and I were psyched. It turns out that Guylaine and Craig got engaged at a drive-in – which is why it was special for them to have their shoot at one. As for the seedy motel – turns out it had lots of character and an even more colorful owner! We had such a fun time shooting these guys and we can’t wait to shoot their wedding later this month!
