Holly+Ben : Married! | Toronto Wedding Photography

I’ve known Ben for a a good ten years now. He’s always been the kind of guy you could lean on, ask for a helping hand or rely on to give you an ear to listen to your problems. Over the past few years as I moved to Montreal, and Ben stayed in Toronto we’ve lost touch a bit, not keeping up as much as you would have liked – but when we see each other it’s like no time has passed and we pick up right where we left off. Except for when Ben called me this past spring. It was a little bit out of the blue, so I knew something was up. “Tim, I’m getting married”. My heart really did skip a beat, I’ve seen Ben go through good times and bad times, and he’s definitely the kind of guy that deserves more of the the good. I couldn’t have been happier. Or so I thought….

Then we met Holly. She has a fun and incredible spirit, and a gigantic heart; She is one of those types of people you can describe as ‘Golden’; Ben is a lucky guy to have caught her. We had a quick consult when we were down in Toronto this past June, and immediately knew that not only were these two human beings such good people, they were truly meant for each other. They make each other better – which is a tough task, because they are already first rate all on their own. Happiness for your friends: to a new level.

We had the immense privilege to photograph their wedding this past November, and their connection and love for God, each other, their friends, and their family was palpable. Congratulations you two, you deserve all life has to offer.

Nairy+Nick: Engaged!

Tim and I often encourage our couples to choose a spot that means something to them for their engagement session. Nairy grew up riding horses and so shooting her and Nick’s engagement shoot out by her sister’s stable just ouside of town seemed like the perfect thing to do. The setting was beautiful, and the horses – beautiful and majestic creatures that they are, relieved themselves on occasion and steered Nick and Nairy around a couple of times – but were a perfect addition to the shoot. We enjoyed getting to know these two and are looking forward to photographing their wedding next year! Here are some of our favorite images from their session:

A greasy spoon diner. That’s where Catherine and John had their first date. “Really, seriously?” is what I imagine went through her mind when they pulled up to the restaurant as she recalled that it was not quite what she was expecting – she had even dressed up for the occasion. For John though – it was practical and made sense – good food and good company, why not?

Obviously that first date led to a string of other dates and clearly things were meant to be. There we were with Catherine and John years after that first date – Catherine dressed up again and John enjoying a hamburger – for their engagement shoot. Here are some of our favorite images:

Melanie + Ariel: Engaged!

When I think first date, dinner and a movie usually comes to mind. Melanie and Ariel had theirs on the top of Mont-Royal at a wide scenic lookout point – enjoyed by many a local and tourist on any given day. We shot their engagement session there on a gorgeous late afternoon, literally following the sun as it set and cast shadows across the mountain. Check out some of our favorite images below:
