Finally…the wedding show Marions-Nous!

After countless hours of figuring out how to best use our non-load-bearing display frame, multiple trips to Home Depot and Omer DeSerres, a daytrip to Cornwall, Ontario (because we didn’t realize until Jan 2nd that retails stores in Quebec are not open on January 2nd) and many, many meters of fishing twine later – we finished our first wedding show (or salon in Quebec) .

Thank you to all who came by to visit our booth – and those of you who are visiting us for the first time on our site, welcome! It was great to meet a lot of new people, and wonderful to share our labour of love with the world. We are also so very grateful to our amazing friends who came and spent a couple hours with us at a time handing out our cards and talking to future brides and grooms. In some ways it was like our official coming out to the local industry, seeing as this was our first bridal salon. We were so encouraged by other photographers who dropped by especially to tell us that they loved our work. Networking is awesome!

Here’s a pictures of our booth before they opened the doors to the public:

And here’s another one our friend Kevin snapped of us during a small lull in visitor traffic:

We had a great time, being able to show our work to so many, chatting it up with neighboring kiosks. One of exhibitors close by to our booth was a cake maker called Jessica Berard (www.jessicaberardcakes.com) who had prettiest cakes ever. Of course we couldn’t resist taking a few shots (and our volunteers couldn’t resist sneaking over to help themselves to a few samples):

All in all, Salon Marions Nous was a good experience and I’m happy to say that now Tim and I can have our lives back!

Ta ta for now,
