We had originally planned Tanya and Louis’ pre-wedding photoshoot for this past Saturday, but seeing as the entire Eastern seaboard of the continent was hit by a massive snowstorm dumping 30 cm of snow all day and night…we re-scheduled for the very next day. And they were real troopers I tell ya, troopers! Not only was it perilous driving through the streets of downtown Montreal, playing chicken with giant snowplows and narrowly missing being hit by cars trying to launch themselves free from parking spots turned snow caves – there was hardly any parking at Mont-Royal’s Beaver Lake! Because what do Montrealers do the day after a colossal snowstorm? They go tubing, snowshowing or cross-country skiing. Or, they get their engagement pictures taken!
The freshly fallen snow and great winter weather made for a beautiful set of pictures, and we had so much fun with Tanya and Louis. They were really enthusiastic and energetic and had Tim and I cracking up during the entire session, and like I wrote already – they were up for anything. Wade into knee-deep snow sans snowpants? Check! Make snow angels? Check! Attempt a figure-skating routine worthy of the Olympics – albeit, without skates? Check!
Here’s a sampling from the shoot on Sunday:
Love that Tanya was wearing that green scarf which really comes out great in these shots.
For the record: the heart was of their doing! Really funny though – I bet people up on the tubing hill could hear us laughing.
Between the four of us, only Tanya had the sensibility to wear “real boots”, as opposed to my wimpy nubuck “fashion boots”.
Wet boots and socks aside, Tim and I had a blast and we’re really excited for Tanya and Louis’ wedding next month!
