Lillian + John: Wedding

We were really psyched to shoot this wedding because 1) Lillian and John are two of the coolest people you’ll ever meet and lots of fun, 2) the church for the ceremony was supposed to be really beautiful, and 3) They opted for a BBQ out in the countryside instead of a formal reception for all their friends and close family. And out of a deep respect and love for their families’ traditions, they had a more formal banquet the following night as well.

And the wedding day rocked! Lillian and John said the vows that they wrote themselves in a beautiful, emotional ceremony at Toronto’s Grace Church on the Hill. The weather was amazing and we took pictures on the grounds of the neighboring Bishop Stracham private school. We then drive out to Bolton for the BBQ where John and Lillian changed into more casual clothes, almost all the guests showed up dressed in white and khaki and everyone chowed down on chicken and ribs and had a good time. It was a relaxed and intimate setting for a unique celebration of love and life. I haven’t laughed at speeches as hard as I did at this wedding for a long time. John and Lillian are true individuals who wanted to do things their own way and even had their own version of Woodstock going with a full set of instruments and an open mike that their talented friends took turns at, filling the night air with music and laughter.  Here are some of our favorites from the wedding day:

Congrats to John and Lillian!
