Well, it seems that everyone is publishing their “best of” lists for 2008 as the year winds down to an end, so I thought I’d jump on the train to Yesterdayville. But for good reason – this past year was incredible for Tim and I. Tim’s been shooting for few years now, I jumped onboard as we shot more weddings together and launched our studio. Each year we look back and marvel at what we’ve learned, what we’ve experienced and how we’ve grown a little wiser in our ways. 2008 was certainly no exception to that – we were privileged to be involved in the lives of some really great people, even if only for a day.
Because at the end of it all, as much as Tim and I love the challenge of shooting in unfamiliar places, soaking up new experiences and pushing ourselves to try different things – the heart of what we do is about the people we photograph. We are entrusted with making images that capture and encapsulate the emotions of a decisive moment. And in turn our clients have shared their lives with us, allowing us to document the most intimate and significant moments.
We are thankful to all our brides and grooms this past year, for trusting us and allowing us to harness our creative energies in photographing them. They made us laugh, (made me cry, at times!) and dared to go along for the ride with some of our crazier ideas, believing that it was going to make an incredible image. They opened their homes and family lives to us, allowing us to hang back as a quiet observer, capturing it all.
So thanks for an amazing year, guys. We are better photographers and our lives have been blessed because we know you.
And to all our brides and grooms and clients for 2009 – we are so looking forward to working with you all!
