As much as we love shooting weddings, its nice to have a change of pace sometimes. Photographing babies and expectant mums is a much quieter, reflective experience. Still, its the same principle at heart – capturing a special point in time in image. Tim and I had two weddings lined up this past long weekend in Toronto but when Evelyn contacted us for the session (also in Toronto) we were up for it. They opened up their home and some of their day-to-day routines with their precious little baby girl for us to photograph. And I’m a total sucker for cute babies. I can be all take-charge and tough but I absolutely melt around babies and little kids. You know, one of those people whose voices goes up in pitch and vocabulary is reduced to words ending with “-y” and “-ie” when a little tot is involved.
We had a marvelous time with Ryan, Evelyn and their 2 month old, Abigail who is so darn cute I kept wanting to put down the camera to play with her and engage in nonsensical baby talk. Here are some of our favorites from the shoot – enjoy!
