When we met Leon and Gigi and shot their engagement session a few months back, we just knew that their wedding was going to be a lot like them – full of laughter, crazy fun, and totally stylin’. The morning of the wedding was hectic and hilarious – they followed the Chinese tradition of the groom and his groomsmen bribing the “sisters” (read, bridesmaids and closest friends) of the bride to gain entrance to the house to pick up Gigi. Except it didn’t stop with monetary bribes – there were quite a few crazy tasks they had to do involving make-up, feathers and singing among other things. There was a tea ceremony and a photosession in the subway station where the bridal party was feted by TTC transit workers and fellow passengers alike. Oh – and the coolest thing of all? Leon arranged for each groomsman and himself to drive a Mini Cooper. It was reliving a scene out of The Italian Job down the 401. Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at Atlantis, a gorgeous venue out on the waterfront which has gigantic glass windows allowing for guests to have a perfect view of the Toronto skyline. It was a beautiful, emotional day and the love that Leon and Gigi’s family and friends had for them was fully evident. Here are some of our favorites from their day:
At some point during the reception, there were fireworks so the management at Atlantis let us get up to the roof:
Congratulations Leon and Gigi!
