Weddings are beautiful. But they can also get dramatic. And fussy. And the planning process could turn any mild-mannered person into a (bride or groom)-zilla. Amanda and Matt decided that they wanted to avoid all that and just get married.
New Hampshire is their home but Montreal has always been a place that meant a lot to them so tying the knot here made a lot of sense. It was almost an elopement, but not quite as their friends and family back home sent their love and best wishes up with them. And after spending a large part of the day with Amanda and Matt, Tim and I could see how their wedding was so perfect for them. They are easy-going and laid back, warm and friendly with a great sense of humor – we had such a great time hanging out with them. Along with their best man Zach (who literally flew in from the other side of the world), maid of honor Melissa, and officiant, Tim and I rounded out the group who witnessed Matt and Amanda exchange their vows and marry each other on the top of Mount Royal. It was one of those rare, special moments that remind us how privileged we are to do what we do as photographers.
Now, any visit to Montreal wouldn’t be complete without sampling some poutine so that’s exactly what we did after the ceremony, to the surprise of many passerby’s on St-Catherine street. Although I suppose it was also unexpected to see a bride and groom in the middle of the week! Check out some of our favorite shots from the day:
In true anti-bridezilla style, Amanda drove herself, her sister and I to the wedding:
Matt – this one is just for you:
Congratulations Matt and Amanda – we had so much fun with you guys!
