Tim and I were delighted to capture Elijah and Carmen’s wedding day – we’re good friends and it was a joy to be, quite literally, right there when they exchanged their vows and became husband and wife. They’re also just really happy people, didn’t get all caught up in the fuss and stress of wedding planning and just enjoyed their big day thoroughly right from the get-go. It was a beautiful wedding, with the ceremony held at Montreal Chinese Alliance church and the cocktails and Reception at the opulent Mt. Stephen’s Club. I mean, you really felt more classy and elegant just walking into the place. It wasn’t the extraordinary surroundings that made the wedding day though. It was the love and the care that was expressed through the words of every heartfelt speech, eyes that misted up during a slideshow of old photos, and the laughter that reverberated through the room (although sometimes at Elijah’s expense when some unfortunate childhood home videos made their way onto the screen).
Without further ado, here are some of our favorites images from their day:
Carmen had more than one pair of fabulous shoes:
Melanie, Carmen’s sister and maid of honor, had some diabolical games planned for the guys before they could enter the house. To preserve some of the guys’ dignity I can’t post the images in public but you get the idea:
That isn’t toothpaste at all….it’s wasabi:
