I feel like I needed to emphasize the part about Montreal in the title of this blog post because this wedding was quite the international gathering: Anny and Michael are settling into their new life in China as I write this and their families and friends are all back at home all over Canada and Asia. And Old Montreal is quite the contrast from fast-paced life in Asia – with its distinctly European feel and ornate architecture lending an other-worldly setting for Anny and Michael’s wedding. It was here that their friends and family who had travelled from all over pitched in together to get all the preparations for their wedding just perfect. And seeing how generous and amazingly kind-hearted people Michael and Anny are, it was no wonder that their nearest and dearest would do just about anything for them. Including posing for pictures in near freezing weather.
That’s right – this is one wedding party that had nerves of steel. Following a very early morning tea ceremony and wedding ceremony in accordance with Chinese tradition at the Intercontinental hotel, we had several hours to roam the streets of Old Montreal for pictures. Anny and Michael and their bridal party decided to brave the elements and the jackets and boots came off for almost every shot taken. A boisterous and lively party followed at the Ruelle des Fortifications where despite the fact that it was a Sunday night, the merriment went late into the night. Tim and I totally enjoyed our day hanging out with Michael, Anny and their friends, here’s a few of our favorite images from their big day:
