Ah, the Big Apple. The City that Never Sleeps. New York is one of our favoritest places in the world and Tim and I try to get down there as often as we can. There’s always another cafe, another late-night eatery and another neighbourhood to explore each time we visit. So we were pretty excited to shoot Naomi and Vincent’s engagement shoot around town, especially since we were going to shoot in a couple of areas we’d never been to before! Naomi and Vincent originally hail from Vancouver are getting married there next summer – and we would have loved to shoot their wedding if only we were free for their date! Having lived in New York for a few years now, they love the city and wanted images in some of their favorite places.
Tim and I forgot how long it is to walk a *few* blocks in Manhattan so what we thought was short leisurely stroll between 5th and 10th ave turned out to be a 20 minute speedwalk – and luckily we got to Highline Park right on time to meet Vincent and Naomi. We strolled around the converted subway line-turned-urban park, headed to the Meatpacking District, ogled the beautiful townhouses in the West Village before hailing a cab to Washington Square Park and finished off our session with a few shots in the subway station. Naomi and Vincent were not only so much fun to shoot and hang out with, they were fabulous impromptu tour guides as well. They walked us to one of their favorite ramen noodle shop in the East Village before parting ways. Thanks for a great afternoon guys! Here are some of our favorite images from their session:
