10 fingers and 10 toes. In the nine months that Tim and I were waiting for our baby to arrive we joked about all these things we wished for. “I hope he’s a super smart baby.” “He’d better be musical!” “I hope we don’t have a colicky baby and I hope he sleeps through the night!” But at the end of the day, we knew that what we wished for the most was a healthy child – above and beyond all else. Those things you take for granted suddenly become tiny miracles – his little nose, his miniscule fingernails, his voracious appetite. Every sigh, whimper, hiccup and yes, even cry are things that we marvel at (although the crying is likely going to lose its novelty really, really fast). Tim and I are completely bowled over that we are parents to this tiny little boy, and amazed at every little thing he does.
Because we share on this blog the moments of our brides’ and grooms’ weddings, it only seems fitting to share a few images of the most significant event of our life so far – or rather, the moments and days following it (no birthing images here!).
