A lot of folks talk about their excitement for the wedding day – the vows, the party, seeing their closest friends and family all gathered in one place. It is after all, an event that has taken months, if not years to carefully plan and dream about. So it was especially poignant that Dave and Camille were excited not just for the day but at the fact that they were going to grow old together. At the end of the day, isn’t that what a wedding is about – two people committing themselves to each other for the rest of their lives, a new page turned, a new chapter opening? Isn’t there something just so beautiful about that?
It was an emotional day for sure, starting with Dave and Camille seeing each other before the ceremony and throughout the evening as words were shared about this made-for-each-other couple. There was so much love in the room and honestly, I found myself getting rather misty-eyed during the mother-son dance! Camille and Dave put so much thought into everything going into this special day – Camille made the flower girls’ skirts as well as her necklace. Her bouquet was made from a collection of brooches that were either passed down or borrowed from loved ones. Guests were directed to their tables with cards containing a small pieces of cloth – that would be re-collected and used to make a quilt. And Chateau Vaudreuil was the perfect lakeside setting for their ceremony. Here are some of our favorite images from their day:
