Emotions and energy ran at a high at Galen and Haneen’s wedding, which didn’t surprise Tim or I in the least. When we first met them in Toronto late last year and spent an entertaining afternoon with them, it struck us just how full of life and joyful they are. Haneen and Galen call Toronto home now but having their wedding in Montreal was of great significance – their relationship has roots here – they met and later got engaged at McGill University. Not to mention a good number of their bridal party was also at McGill for school so it was a homecoming of sorts for a lot of folks. There’s a special kind of energy in the room when friends and family are coming in from all over the country and even the world and gathered in one place to celebrate a couple they all clearly adore and love. Wedding guests applauded every member of the bridal party as they came down the aisle. Even in a vast, cavernous space like Entrepôt Dominion, a hush fell across the crowd as friend after friend, parent after sibling stood to address Haneen and Galen, regaling the assembled with childhood tales and and hilarious anecdotes.
I don’t think I need to say more as the pictures below are telling of the kind of day (and night) it was. We do have to give a shout-out to Elyna Kudish of Unity Weddings who pulled together a jaw-droppingly gorgeous event with beautiful and exquisite details.
