As we photograph our many different couples on their wedding day, its beautiful to see what makes them tick as a married unit. Some couples are very similar in their personalities, others are complete opposites but complementary. I wouldn’t call Esther and Matt opposites but he is without a doubt the one who is cracking the jokes and wry observations and Esther is the one who laughs with a “I can’t believe you just said that!” look that comes over her face. What they have in common though, is that they are very, very caring individuals with big hearts – underscored by the fact that they are using their skills as trained doctors to serve as medical missionaries overseas. Their wedding was beautiful and intimate, with the ceremony held at Grace-Church-on-the-Hill church and reception at The Pommery restaurant in Toronto, sprinkled with words recounting fond memories and humorous anecdotes from their loved ones. Also? I won’t soon forget the parental fist pump (with the requisite explosion!) I witnessed right before the ceremony – it was too sweet and funny and telling of the kind of families Matt and Esther have. Some of our favourite images from their big day:
