There was this moment in the morning when a busboy from the Ritz came into the room where the girls were getting ready with a bottle of champagne. “This… is from the groom,” he says. There was this collective sigh from the bridesmaids, a kind of release of understanding – like they were already won over by this guy for their trusted sister, but this was just another one of those bonus reasons why, and that there was a history of bonuses.
And that is how the day started.
What followed was a emotional ceremony officiated by a close friend, an extremely chilled out portrait session downtown and a party to rival all parties under the elegance that was beautifully planned and decorated by the wonderful team at le Groupe Carte Blanche and the unmatched setting provided by the Ritz-Carlton. I also had the wonderful pleasure of shooting alongside Ashley from Ashley MacPhee Photography on this gorgeous day. Yasmine and Soufian were impeccable in their dress and tux, but even further than that was the undertone of certainty in the commitment they were making to each other this day. They struck me as fiercely loyal people, who surround themselves with fiercely loyal friends. They are the kinds of people that know what they want and have no patience for regret.
It was a wonderful event that contained absolutely zero doubt, just elation, excitement, and full on joy. It was a wonderful thing to witness, and it reminded again why I love doing what I do.
